Elizabeth Mathews

As Special Counsel of the firm, an Accredited Family Law Specialist, and with 15 years of extensive experience across private practice and the Courts in Queensland and Victoria, Elizabeth Mathews ensures that her clients are in expert hands as they navigate the complexities of the family law system.

Elizabeth brings a strategic and measured approach to even the most complex cases. Her goal with every client is to make sure that they feel informed, respected and empowered by her advice to make the decisions that are best for them and their family and which allow them to begin their next chapter with confidence and dignity.

With experience across all areas of family law, Elizabeth holds special interest in both complex financial matters and private international law, including cross-border parenting disputes and multi-jurisdictional financial litigation.

Elizabeth is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Queensland Law Society, and The Law Institute of Victoria. Her expert knowledge has been called upon for contributions to multiple professional publications and she has previously been invited to guest lecture in family law at the University of Queensland and the College of Law, as well as delivering training for Legal Aid Victoria and the Children’s Court of Victoria.
