Sarah has practised exclusively in family law for over a decade and has been recognised as one of the leading family lawyers in Queensland since 2016 in the peer reviewed Doyle’s Guide to the Australian legal profession.
During this time Sarah has specialized in complex, high-net worth matrimonial property disputes — typically involving numerous corporate and trust structures and third parties such as siblings and family trustee companies. She is known as a disciplined, technical and deliberative practitioner.
In July 2017 Sarah was appointed as Legal Counsel with the Institute of Urban Indigenous Health in July 2017— a non-profit organisation leading the planning, development and delivery of primary healthcare services to indigenous communities in South East Queensland.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to social justice, Sarah is now heading the establishment and operation of a fully integrated legal service with health care for indigenous communities.
A former director of Phillips Family Law, since taking up; the role with the Institute of Indigenous Health, Sarah has continued as a consultant, where she is called upon to assist the team given her high level of expertise with complex property settlements and her aptitude and technical precision distilling the commercial complexities and drafting complex legal documents.
In November 2016 Sarah was elected as the Queensland member of the Executive of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia – the peak representative body for family lawyers in Australia.
Sarah has been cited in The Australian, published for Proctor Qld, been a presenter for Law Australasia, the Queensland Law Society and TVeD and undertaken pro bono work for the Caxton Legal Centre Qld and the Refugee and Immigration Legal Centre as part of the Unrepresented Asylum Seeker Project.
